Hanging On By A Thread?

“Yea, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, with loving kindness have I drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:3).
If you have ever felt like you were hanging on by the proverbial thread, you were wrong. You were hanging on by God’s rope of love: “I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love…” (Hosea 11:4). The cords of a man referred to a rope used to measure, like our tape measure. God drew Israel out of 400 years of bondage and into covenant with Himself, and so He did with us, drawing us out of the world of sin into relationship with Him through His Son Jesus.
